LETTER FROM THE
PRESIDENT - Another New Year is upon us and
it's time to be making plans for 2006! A meeting was held
December 17 and we made quite allot of decisions. OVRHA will once
again host 7 weekend shows at Henderson Arena in Jackson, OH in addition to The Tradition
Futurity and East Coast Affiliate Championship Show to be held in
Springfield, OH. Only two of our weekend shows will be three day shows this year
and we have lowered the added money for some of the classes. Check
out the website for the show schedule and details on the shows. We
already have some great sponsors for this years shows....Leonard's Truck
and Trailer will be sponsoring The Tradition Futurity, Jividen's Farm
Equipment will again be sponsoring the Derby show and Clark Oil will
sponsor the Snaffle Bit Futurity. Sundowner has graciously donated
money to OVRHA to be used anywhere it is needed. Don't forget the
OVRHA Awards Banquet to be held February 4. Our banquet is always
a great time to catch up with all our reining buddies during the winter
and we will have our ever popular silent auction which is one of our
biggest fundraisers for the year. Please be sure to
bring your items for the silent auction! We had election of
officers for 2006 and by unanimous vote the same officers once again were elected. Rick Clark, President, Joe Wolfe, Vice President,
Kim Rose, Secretary and Kathy Lopp, Treasurer. I would personally
like to thank each and every one of you who came to our shows to show as
well as those of you who helped out with the numerous jobs it takes to
run a successful organization such as ours. We hope you
continue your support of our great club and most importantly have a
great time at our shows! See you this summer!

| OVRHA BANQUET - The OVRHA Banquet will be held on February 4, 2006 and will be held at the Ashland Plaza Hotel, Ashland, KY 15th & Winchester Avenue (606) 329-0055 or (800) 346-6133 email info@ashlandplaza.net The cost of the banquet will be $22 per person. We will be having our Silent Auction so be sure to bring items to be auctioned off. This is one of our biggest fundraisers for the year so come with checkbooks in hand and help support our club! | |||

THE TRADITION FUTURITY & EAST COAST AFFILIATE CHAMPIONSHIPS - This year The Tradition Futurity & East Coast Affiliate Championship Finals were held at the Mid West Equestrian Center in Springfield, OH. This proved to be a very good move for the club. The facilities were great and the ground was super! We had 76 entries in our Futurity which is an increase of 20 horses from last year and all of the Ancillary classes were large as well. This show takes allot of work and planning to put on and we couldn't do it without the help and support of the many people who work long hours making this show happen as well as the many sponsors of the show. Dan Clarke and Rick Ramsey are the OVRHA Tradition Chairmen. They do a great job keeping everything running smoothly and overseeing the many details during the year that help make this show the success that it is. We would also like to thank our Futurity Sponsors Kubota Tractor Corporation and Sundowner Super Store of Ohio. Other sponsors of the show were: Shawn & Michelle Flarida who provided the Coffee, Cookies & Donuts, Clayton's Fine Western Store who donated one futurity saddle, Rod's Western Palace who donated prizes for all classes, Pard's donated prizes for all classes, TizWiz Feeds donated feed and vests for class winners, our Trophy Sponsors, Taylor Farm - Woody & Kathy Taylor, Sam Smith Reining Horses - Sam & Kelle Smith, Gabe Hutchins, Joe Moliken - Extreme Video, Greg Hill, Ronnie Fox, Matt Flarida, Les Lewis, and Polly Hilliard. Thank you also to the many workers who helped with the many jobs that kept the show running smoothly: Dale Lopp and George Clouse for taking care of the ground (and the ground was SUPER!!), Kathy Lopp for ordering and organizing the awards, Madelon Ramsey for taking care of the stall reservations and the Pre Futurity entries, Kim Rose for donating the Kubota tractor that was used, Joe Wolfe and Rick Clark for presenting the awards and keeping the water coolers stocked with water for the exhibitors, Clarks Pump N Shop for donating the water, Dan Clarke for organizing the scribes as well as scribing in the absence of his wife Carol who was unable to attend the show, Scribes Kathy Lopp, Becky Jordan, and Nadine Galbraith, Linda Raymond for organizing the youth team tournament, thanks to Debbie Drinko and Lisa Garza from NRHA for attending and helping out with whatever was needed, thank you to Kim Sloan, past NRHA President and Bill Bradley, current NRHA President for attending and helping with awards presentation. And thank you to all of you who attended and helped to make this a very successful show! Mark your calendars now for the 2006 Tradition Futurity and East Coast Affiliate Championship show to be held September 7 - 10 2006!! You won't want to miss it!! |
