LETTER FROM THE
PRESIDENT - The Clayton Woosley Hall of Fame
Show, our joint venture with Central Kentucky Reining Horse Association,
was a great show and a very successful venture. I would like to
thank everyone for attending and supporting the show. The Kentucky
Horse Park is a beautiful setting for a horse show. The weather
was great, the ground good, there were lots of vendors available for
shopping and classes for everyone from green rider to Open. The
competition at this show was amazing from the Brownwood Farm Derby held
on Friday evening, the USEF Young Rider Championships on Saturday
afternoon to the ultimate....the USEF Open Championships on Saturday
night. I had many compliments on how well the show was organized
and run between the two clubs and just how much fun the show was.
Many thanks go to Todd Knerr and his show management staff who made
things run smoothly. I would also like to thank all our OVRHA
members who worked so hard before, during and after the show. The
OVRHA CWHOF show committee consisted of myself, Kathy Lopp, Dave
Wilkins, Joe Wolfe, Becky Jordan, and Kim Jividen. Dale Lopp
worked the ground at the show and did an exceptional job, as always.
Doug Breeding also helped Dale with the ground. Becky Jordan did a
wonderful job hosting the USEF Reception on Saturday evening.
Thanks go to the members who stayed after the show was over to help with
the cleanup....Kim Jividen, Dustin Deckard and Joe Wolfe. If you
missed this show this year, you will want to mark your calendars now and
be sure to attend the next one.

THE TRADITION SALE - National Equine Sales, Inc will again be putting on a sale to be held September 7, 2006 during The East Coast Affiliate Championship Show and Tradition Futurity. Yearlings and Two Year olds that sell at this sale are eligible to compete in The Tradition Sale Reining Futurity during the horses three year old year. This will be the first year that The Tradition Sale Reining Futurity will be held. It will run concurrently with The Tradition Futurity. The purse for this will be announced after August 15 of this year. This sale will have a Two Year old session, a Yearling Session and a Maturity Session. | DAN CLARKE MEMORIAL FUND - During The Clayton Woosley Hall of Fame Show, several OVRHA members put together a silent auction with the proceeds to go to Dan's wife Carole to help with funeral costs and medical bills. Lynn Savage provided free coffee courtesy of Commander Riminic along with a donation box for those wishing to put money toward the fund. Many vendors and members donated services or items that were bid on throughout the week. The auction ended on Saturday evening during the USEF Open Championship finals. A grand total of $6,500 was raised and presented to Carole after the July Jackson show. A very appreciative and grateful thank you to all who donated for this cause. | |||

NEW OVRHA MEMBER - Congratulations to OVRHA Member Jill Walton on the birth of her baby boy, Cole Alfred Walton. Cole was born on June 12th and weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz. and was 21 inches. |
