LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT -  I would like to congratulate all our members who showed at Congress and who placed there.  We had quite a good showing from our membership.  November 4-5 is the last show of the season for OVRHA.  I hope everyone plans to attend and help support our club.  I will be holding a meeting in November for election of officers for 2007.  Details are in this newsletter.  Please plan to attend to vote as well as to share with us any ideas you might have for fund raising for 2007.  It takes alot of work to enable us to put on the great shows that we have been holding at Jackson.  Any new ideas, volunteers, etc would be appreciated!!  See you at Jackson!

Meeting - There will be a general meeting on November 18 at the Shoneys on Rt 60 in Barboursville, WV.  This is the same place we had meetings at last year.  Dinner at 6:30 and meeting to follow.  New officers will be nominated and voted on.  Anyone interested in running for an office please plan to attend.  We will send out another email and a notice in the mail closer to the meeting date.

Stall Fee Increase - At the September show we had to increase our stall fees slightly from $70 to $85 to help in covering the cost of expenses at the shows.  We have been averaging 120 - 130 stalls per show so this will bring in another $1800 - $2000 in income for our club.

 Congress - Many of our members placed in the NRHA & AQHA reining classes at the All American Quarter Horse Congress this year.  Sue Flynn won the Ladies on Its Rowdy Doody Time, Kim Jividen Rose was 3rd in Novice Amatuer on Hangten In T Juana, Kim Breeding was 5th in Novice Amatuer on Bingo 45, Nick Nelson was 4th in the Limited Open on Top This Rooster owned by Lagle & Savage, Rick Clark, Kathy Lopp & Kelle Smith made the finals in the Non Pro Futurity, Jerry Brandy was 5th in the Intermediate Non Pro, Kathy Taylor was 9th in the Intermediate Open on Heza Peppy Melody owned by Kim Jividen Rose, Dale Lopp was 5th on Stop on Top in the Limited Non Pro Futurity, Bill Clutter was 8th in the Limited Non Pro Futurity on Miss Windsweeper, Jen Van Cura was 10th in the Limited Non Pro Futurity on Try to See Things My Way, Lyndsey Jordan was 3rd in the Youth 14-18 on Flip My Nic, Bernie Paetzel was 5th on Toriana Dun It in the Non Pro, Tori Thomas was 5th in the Limited Non Pro on Catch Ride, Beth Himes was 9th in Limited Non Pro on McMega Mac, Roy Flynn was 10th on Silver Benz in the Limited Non Pro, Don Boyd was in the Open finals of the Congress Futurity and was tied for 6th (with himself) in the Intermediate Open Division and was 10th on Tori Thomas's Mifiltoe.  Jeanne McGuire was 9th in the Novice Non Pro on GS Beamer and 8th in the Intermediate Non Pro.  Congratulations to all!!  And if I missed anyone please let me know and I will be sure to include you in the next newsletter.

Henderson's Western Wear Store -  During the November show, Beth Henderson Vallery of Henderson's Western Wear Store has graciously agreed to donate 10% (certain rules apply) of the sale of any items that OVRHA members purchase from the store that will be donated to the OVRHA silent auction that will be held during our awards banquet.   Not only will the club receive 10% of the cost of the item purchased, they will also benefit when it is donated to the auction at the banquet.  Be sure to thank Beth and Henderson's Western Wear Store for their support of our club!  If you have any questions, please contact Beth at truluck@bright.net.  (Back to Top)
