The  Ohio Valley Reining Association is one of the oldest and largest reining associations in the nation.

-The OVRHA was established in 1984. Shows (mostly jackpots) were held at various locations in WV, KY and OH during 1984 and 1985.
-The first OVRHA futurity was held in 1986 at Winfield, WV. Because the 1987 futurity was hit with a rainstorm, the 1988 futurity was moved to an indoor facility in Morehead, KY. The 1989 futurity was moved to Wilmington, OH where the OVRHA first hosted the East Coast Affiliate Championships.
-The 1996 futurity was moved to Lexington, VA and a partnership was formed with EPRHA to co-host the East Coast Affiliate Championships along with the futurity, now known as The Tradition.
-In 2003 & 2004 The Tradition was once again hosted entirely by the OVRHA.

In 2006, The East Coast Affiliate Championships and The Tradition Futurity will be hosted by OVRHA and will be held in Springfield, OH.
